Fall Greening 2025

Our KU EWB student volunteers came through again for this year’s Fall Greening event - our 4th year. In late September, 14 volunteers participated on a beautiful Sunday to take on multiple projects at Global One Urban Farming, a large community garden and education non-profit in Kansas City’s Vinyard NorthWest Neighborhood. Global One is dedicated to addressing food apartheid, environmental justice, and agricultural education in urban communities. They work in neighborhoods identified as USDA-defined food deserts, providing access to fresh, healthy food while teaching people how to grow it themselves.

Over the course of the day, Historic Green stained picnic tables, weeded & harvested vegetables in the hoop house, fabricated new seed-sorting screens, and designed & built a new tool storage bin (for shovels, rakes, etc.). Thank you volunteers!
